Frequently Asked Questions

A certificate of Compliance (COC) is a document that shows your electrical system meets all the South African standard regulations.

Reasons for you to get a COC can be property selling, ownership transfer, major electrical works or renovations, changing an existing COC when additions are made to the current system or when simply installing a new Distribution Board.

Our inspection is not just an eye check it is extensive testing of the electrical system functionality which includes checking circuit breakers, sockets, wiring, bonding and earth leakage. The main aim for this inspection is to see if the system is safe.

Our inspection takes a maximum of 2 hours, however that depends on the size of the property we are inspecting. If the system is compliant, we issue the COC on the same day if not we give you a list of things to do before issuing the COC.

If your property fails the inspection, we give you a clear and detailed quote on what needs to be done before we issue the COC.

R2500 is the average price. Pricing, however, will depend on the current system safety and compliance. If there is work to be done first, then you can expect a different amount.
